The Purple Hybrid mattress delivers the same signature Purple feel, but with a more durable and supportive construction. Purple Mattress Review Heavy Person
Purple Hybrid mattresses come from the same company that made Hyper-Elastic Pomer and the original Purple bed. Purple offers three kinds of hybrid beds. The Purple Hybrid, Purple Hybrid Premier 3/3 and Purple Hybrid Premier 4 are the appropriate names. Below I will explain why you might prefer one to the other and how they compare with the rest. Continue reading to learn if a Purple Hybrid is right for your needs.
Purple Hybrid (also known as the Purple 2) is the thinnest option of hybrids and measures only 11 inches thick. It’s firmer than the other models and is suitable for stomach and back sleepers. It’s also the most affordable Purple Hybrid Mattress.
The Purple Hybrid Premier is 12 inches thick and has a thicker Hyper Elastic Polymer comfort layer. This makes the Purple Hybrid Premier feel a bit more soft and places it around a medium to moderate-firm scale. Purple Mattress Review Heavy Person
Purple Hybrid Premier 4 Purple Hybrid Hybrid beds are the most expensive. However, it’s 13 inches thick and extra supportive. Like the Purple Hybrid Premier 3, it has a medium to medium-firm profile, and we think it would suit all body types.
Purple Hybrid Mattress Video Review
Purple Hybrids include purple details throughout the bed. This is a wonderful addition for anyone who loves the color. It has a premium appearance thanks to the fine details on the cover. You can also tell that it is a bit heavier than the Purple flagship mattress. The main thing people want to know about this mattress is what does the Purple feel like?
Well, it’s completely different from the innerspring mattress in the guest room at Grandma’s, I’ll tell you that much. This is a novel concept for a bed, and I believe it worked in the company’s favor. Purple Mattress Review Heavy Person
Purple Hybrid mattress firmness, feel and feel
No matter which model you choose, Purple Hybrid mattresses feel soft and airy but not like foam. You can feel the soft, squishy corners of the mattress bend and transform underneath if you place your hand on the middle.
It isn’t noticeable when you lie down. Instead, you feel buoyant and like you are floating on your back or in a hammock. The thick layer pocketsed coils make it really supportive, which I’ll explain below.
Purple Hybrid 2 simultaneously relieves pressure and supports, but has a slightly firmer profile. This Purple Hybrid 2 is around a medium-firm or 7 out 10 on my firmness scale. The soft squares don’t push into your hips and shoulders when you’re on your side like your typical firm bed, but my back and spine feel very reinforced above the bed’s Hyper-Elastic Polymer layer. I find it a little firmer than my Original Purple mattress.
The Purple Hybrid is a great option if you don’t want to experiment with other bedding styles. If you are open to the idea of a mattress that relieves pressure from your hips, shoulders, and back, while also making you feel light, this might be a good choice for you. Purple Hybrid Premier
The brand’s two highest-level hybrid beds feature the same Purple feel. However, they have a slightly softer profile due to thicker layers made of Hyper-Elastic Pomer.
Both of them fall in the middle to mid-firm range, or roughly a 6 on our firmness scale. Purple Mattress Review Heavy Person
Purple Hybrid Mattress Construction
The Purple Hybrid measures approximately 11 inches high and has four layers. Below is a breakdown of each layer of the Purple Hybrid bed. This will give you an idea about what makes Purple and Purple.
A thin slab of basic Foam about an inch in thickness, which supports the thick pocketed coil above.
To limit motion transfer, the mattress features a thick system of 7.5-inch pocketsed coils that are individually wrapped with fabric. This is the reason this mattress is so supportive.
To neutralize the feeling of the coils within the foundation of the bed, add a thin 1/2 inch of foam.
The Hyper Elastic Polymer brand uses covers that are approximately 2 inches in height. These are laid out in a grid-like pattern. This layer is what distinguishes the Purple Hybrid mattress from the others. Each mattress’s thickness varies. It’s bouncy, squishy, soft and provides most of the Purple’s comfort.
Surrounding the edges are dense foam slabs to make the sides feel more supportive and sturdy.
Purple’s StretchMax (or Extra-Stretchy) cover can be found on the top. I think it feels more breathable than your typical mattress cover and compare the feel more to an athletic antisweat undergarment than a soft cotton top. Purple Mattress Review Heavy Person
Purple Hybrid Premier mattress layers
The brand’s top-tier mattresses are the Purple Hybrid Premier and Purple Hybrid Premier. Only the top layers make up the main difference in construction.
Purple 3 has 3″ of Hyper-Elastic polymer at the top and Purple 4 has 4″.
They are slightly softer than the Purple Hybrid, although it doesn’t make much difference in feel. Purple Mattress Review Heavy Person
Motion isolation is not something that innerspring beds are known for, but the Purple Hybrid has pocketsed coils and special material that make it possible.
I believe it’s quite effective at isolating motion even though it’s a super-bouncy mattress.
It virtually makes no noise, and you’ll hardly be able to notice your partner moving around on the other side. Purple Mattress Review Heavy Person
The Purple Hybrid mattresses are constructed with firm foam around the edges to hold your body up more firmly if you tend to creep towards the side of the bed during the night.
This is why I give the edge support capabilities of this mattress two thumbs up.
The other benefit of the Purple Grid besides bouncy comfort would have to be its temperature-regulating abilities. The Purple Grid doesn’t have any cooling materials, but its natural breathable design makes them one of the best mattresses to allow airflow.
It doesn’t retain heat like memory foam or poly foam might, making it appealing to hot sleepers like me who need the additional cooling relief. Although it’s not cold, I don’t feel too hot when I sleep on the Purple. Purple Mattress Review Heavy Person
Purple Hybrid’s perfect sleeping positions and body types
You wouldn’t expect to find the right size shirt at your favorite clothing shop, so don’t assume that every mattress will be accommodating.
Because there are so many choices, it is important to choose carefully. Your preference for a particular position and your body type are key factors in choosing the best mattress. Purple Mattress Review Heavy Person
Side, stomach, back, or a combination thereof are the primary sleeping positions. I think the Purple Hybrid will work best for back and stomach sleepers.
The Purple Premier mattress is the best option for side sleepers. They are slightly more comfortable and relieve pressure than the standard hybrid mattress, which will be a plus for your shoulders. Purple Mattress Review Heavy Person
Type of body
Regardless of your body type, whether you weigh 105 pounds or 250 pounds, I think the Purple Hybrid beds will be perfectly suitable for you.
Purple Hybrid beds are better for all types of bodies than regular foam beds like Casper, Nectar and Casper. They have that layer of steel pocketed coils on the bottom, and if you think about it, steel is much more durable than foam. The difference in how this mattress will hold up over time compared to an all-foam bed will be especially noticeable over the course of 10 years. Purple Mattress Review Heavy Person
The Purple Hybrid costs more than the original Purple. It isn’t the best option for people trying to save as much money as possible when buying a new bed. You might find it reasonable if you want to invest in your nights of sleep.
The standard Purple Hybrid mattress is available in sizes from twin XL to California king. Prices start from $1,299 and can go all the way to $1.899. You won’t find any discounts on this bed but they may offer free sheets or pillows when you buy.
The Purple Hybrid mattress has metal coils encased in foam to offer support and softness.
