Purple Hybrid mattresses have the same Purple feel, but with a more sturdy and supportive construction. Purple Queen Mattress
From the company that gave you Hyper-Elastic Polymer and the original Purple bed comes the big-and-sturdy Purple Hybrid mattresses. Purple actually offers three hybrid beds: the Purple Hybrid and the Purple Hybrid Premier 3 & 4. Below, I’ll dive into the different reasons why you may want one over the other, and if they’re worth their price in general. Continue reading to learn if a Purple Hybrid is right for your needs.
Purple Hybrid (also known as the Purple 2) is the thinnest option of hybrids and measures only 11 inches thick. It’s firmer than the other models and is suitable for stomach and back sleepers. With that said, it’s the most affordable Purple Hybrid mattress.
The Purple Hybrid Premier, formerly known as Purple 3, is 12 inches thick with a thicker Hyper-Elastic Polymer comfort layer. This makes the Purple Hybrid Premier feel a bit more soft and places it around a medium to moderate-firm scale. Purple Queen Mattress
Purple Hybrid Premier 4 Purple Hybrid Hybrid beds are the most expensive. However, it’s 13 inches thick and extra supportive. It’s similar to the Purple Hybrid Premier 3 and has a medium or medium-firm profile. We believe it would suit any body type.
Purple Hybrid Mattress Video Review
Purple Hybrids include purple details throughout the bed. This is a wonderful addition for anyone who loves the color. The details in the cover give it a premium look, and you can tell it’s a bit more heavy-duty than the flagship Purple mattress. What does the Purple mattress feel like?
It’s certainly not the same innerspring mattress that Grandma used in her guest room. This bed is an entirely new concept that I believe worked well for the company. Purple Queen Mattress
Purple Hybrid mattress firmness, feel and feel
No matter which model you choose, Purple Hybrid mattresses feel soft and airy but not like foam. You can feel the soft, squishy corners of the mattress bend and transform underneath if you place your hand on the middle.
It is not noticeable when you lay down. You just feel like you’re floating over your back or on a hammock. Though, it’s also really supportive because of the thick layer of pocketed coils, which I’ll explain more below.
The Purple Hybrid 2 simultaneously feels pressure-relieving and supportive, while maintaining a slightly firmer profile; I think it’s around a medium-firm, or 7 out of 10 on the firmness scale. The soft squares of the Purple Hybrid 2 don’t push against your hips and shoulders like a regular firm bed. However, I feel my back and spine are reinforced by Hyper-ElasticPolymer. I find it a little firmer than my Original Purple mattress.
If you’re curious about the Purple Hybrid but you aren’t willing to explore unconventional ways of bedding, you might want to look elsewhere. If you are open to the idea of a mattress that relieves pressure from your hips, shoulders, and back, while also making you feel light, this might be a good choice for you. Purple Queen Mattress
Purple Hybrid Premier
Although they share the brand’s signature Purple feel, the two higher-level hybrid beds are slightly different because they contain thicker layers Hyper-Elastic Polymer.
They are between medium and medium-firm. I would say they’re about 6 on the firmness spectrum. Purple Queen Mattress
Purple Hybrid mattress construction
The Purple Hybrid is four layers thick and around 11 inches tall. Here’s a simple breakdown of the bed’s layers so you get an idea of what makes Purple, Purple:
A thin slab of basic foam about an inch thick, which supports the thick pocketed coil layer above.
A thick system containing 7.5-inch coils in pockets, each individually wrapped with fabric to prevent motion transfer. It is what makes this mattress so comfortable.
To neutralize the feeling of the coils within the foundation of the bed, add a thin 1/2 inch of foam.
The Hyper Elastic Polymer brand uses covers that are approximately 2 inches in height. These are laid out in a grid-like pattern. This is the layer that makes it different from the Purple Hybrids. Each mattress has an individual thickness. It’s bouncy, squishy, soft and provides most of the Purple’s comfort.
To give the sides more support and stability, dense foam slabs are placed around the edges.
Purple’s StretchMax (or Extra-Stretchy) cover can be found on the top. It’s more breathable than any standard mattress cover. You can compare the feel to a soft cotton top or an athletic antisweat shirt. Purple Queen Mattress
Purple Hybrid Premier mattress layers
The brand’s top-tier mattresses are the Purple Hybrid Premier and Purple Hybrid Premier. The top layers of construction are the only significant differences.
Purple 3 has 3″ of Hyper-Elastic polymer at the top and Purple 4 has 4″.
They are slightly softer than the Purple Hybrid, although it doesn’t make much difference in feel. Purple Queen Mattress
Motion isolation isn’t something innerspring beds are good at. But with the Purple Hybrid’s pocketsed coils as well as the special material inside, it’s an entirely different story.
I think it’s pretty good at isolating motion, even if it is a super-bouncy bed.
It makes almost no noise and you won’t be able to see your partner on the other side. Purple Queen Mattress
Purple Hybrid mattresses include firm foam on the edges. If you are prone to slipping during the night, the Purple Hybrid will keep you more secure.
So, I give this mattress the enthusiastic thumbs up for edge support.
The other benefit of the Purple Grid besides bouncy comfort would have to be its temperature-regulating abilities. The Purple Grid is not made with any cooling material. Instead, its natural, breathable design makes it one the best mattresses for allowing airflow.
It doesn’t retain heat in the same way as memory foam or Poly foam. This makes Purple a great choice for hot sleepers who need extra cooling. Purple isn’t cold to the touch but I don’t feel hot sleeping on it. Purple Queen Mattress
Purple Hybrid’s perfect sleeping positions and body types
You wouldn’t expect every size shirt to fit at your local clothing store.
Because there are so many choices, it is important to choose carefully. Your preference for a particular position and your body type are key factors in choosing the best mattress. Purple Queen Mattress
There are three main sleeping positions: side, stomach or back. Purple Hybrids are best for stomach and back sleeping.
The Purple Premier mattress is the best option for side sleepers. They are slightly more comfortable and relieve pressure than the standard hybrid mattress, which will be a plus for your shoulders. Purple Queen Mattress
Type of body
The Purple Hybrid beds can be used regardless of body weight, so no matter what size you are, they will fit you perfectly.
Purple Hybrid beds are better for all types of bodies than regular foam beds like Casper, Nectar and Casper. You will notice the layer of steel pocketed coils at the bottom. It is far more durable than foam. It will be noticeable how the mattress will perform over the years compared with an all foam mattress. Purple Queen Mattress
The Purple Hybrid bed is more expensive than the original Purple. This is not a good option for those who want to spend as little money as possible on a new mattress. If you’re looking for a way to improve your night’s rest, however, you might consider it a reasonable price.
Purple Hybrid mattresses come in sizes from twin-XL to California-king. The prices start at $1,299, and can go up to $1,899. While they do not typically offer discounts on this mattress, they may have a promotional offer that gives you free sheets or pillows.
Purple Hybrid mattresses have metal coils that are encased with foam for support and softness.
