The Purple Hybrid mattress delivers the same signature Purple feel, but with a more durable and supportive construction. Purple Top Mattress
Purple Hybrid mattresses come from the same company that made Hyper-Elastic Pomer and the original Purple bed. Purple offers three varieties of hybrid beds. These are appropriately named Purple Hybrid Premier 3 to Purple Hybrid Premier 4. Below, I will explore the various reasons you may choose one over the others and whether the cost is worth it. Continue reading to learn if a Purple Hybrid is right for your needs.
Purple Hybrid, also known by the Purple 2, measures 11 inches in thickness. It is also firmer and more suitable for stomach, back, or stomach sleepers than the two other models. It is also the most affordable Purple Hybrid model.
The Purple Hybrid Premier (formerly Purple 3) is 12 inches in thickness with a thicker Hyper elastic Polymer comfort layer. It feels a little softer and is a medium-firm weight. Purple Top Mattress
Purple Hybrid Premier 4 Purple Hybrid Hybrid is the most expensive Purple hybrid bed, but it’s also thicker (13 inches) and offers extra support. It is similar to the Purple Hybrid Premier 3 in that it has a medium-firm profile. We think it would be suitable for most body types.
Purple Hybrid Mattress Video Review
Purple Hybrids have purple detailing all over the bed. It’s a great choice for someone who is passionate about the color. The cover has premium details that give it a more luxurious look than the Purple flagship mattress. What does the Purple feel like?
It’s certainly not the same innerspring mattress that Grandma used in her guest room. This bed is an entirely new concept that I believe worked well for the company. Purple Top Mattress
Purple Hybrid mattress firmness, feel and feel
Regardless of the model you get, the Purple Hybrid mattresses are soft and airy without feeling like foam. If you press your finger on the center of the mattress, the squishy pieces will bend and change underneath.
It’s not super noticeable when you’re laying down, it just feels buoyant like you’re floating on your back or laying on a hammock. It’s very supportive due to the thick layer pocketed coils. I’ll explain this further below.
The Purple Hybrid 2 simultaneously feels supportive and pressure-relieving, but it also has a slightly firmer profile. It’s 7/10 on the firmness scale. The soft squares of the Purple Hybrid 2 don’t push against your hips and shoulders like a regular firm bed. However, I feel my back and spine are reinforced by Hyper-ElasticPolymer. It’s firmer than the Original Purple mattress.
You might be interested in the Purple Hybrid, but aren’t ready to try out new bedding options. If you are open to the idea of a mattress that relieves pressure from your hips, shoulders, and back, while also making you feel light, this might be a good choice for you. Purple Top Mattress
Purple Hybrid Premier
The brand’s two highest-level hybrid beds feature the same Purple feel. However, they have a slightly softer profile due to thicker layers made of Hyper-Elastic Pomer.
They both fall between medium to medium-firm or about a 6 on my firmness scale. Purple Top Mattress
Purple Hybrid mattress construction
The Purple Hybrid has four layers and is approximately 11 inches high. Here’s a simple breakdown of the bed’s layers so you get an idea of what makes Purple, Purple:
A thin slab of basic foam about an inch thick, which supports the thick pocketed coil layer above.
A thick system of 7.5-inch pocketed coils, individually wrapped with fabric to help limit motion transfer across the mattress. It is what makes this mattress so comfortable.
A thin half inch of foam to help neutralize any sensations caused by the pockets in the bed’s base.
The brand’s Hyper-Elastic Polymer is approximately 2 inches thick, laid out in a grid pattern. This is the main layer that differentiates it from the Purple Hybrid mattress. Each mattress has a different thickness. It is soft, bouncy and provides the majority of the Purple’s comfort.
To make the sides more stable and sturdy, dense foam slabs are surrounded by the edges.
Purple’s StretchMax (or Extra-Stretchy) cover can be found on the top. It feels more breathable and breathable then a standard mattress cover. Purple Top Mattress
Purple Hybrid Premier mattress layers
Purple Hybrid Premier is the brand’s highest-end mattress option. The only difference in construction is the top layers.
Purple 3 has a layer 3 in. of Hyper-Elastic Polymer at top; Purple 4 has 4 in.
While it doesn’t make a significant difference in feel, they are more soft than the Purple Hybrid. Purple Top Mattress
Motion isolation is not a common feature of innerspring beds, but the Purple Hybrid offers a different approach with its pocketed coils.
It is quite good at isolating movement, even though it is super-bouncy.
It makes almost no noise and you won’t be able to see your partner on the other side. Purple Top Mattress
Purple Hybrid mattresses have firm foam at the edges that will hold you up if your body tends to lean towards the sides of the bed.
Therefore, I give this mattress my enthusiastic thumbs-up for its edge support capabilities.
The other benefit of the Purple Grid besides bouncy comfort would have to be its temperature-regulating abilities. The Purple Grid has a natural breathable structure that allows for airflow.
It doesn’t retain heat like memory foam or poly foam might, making it appealing to hot sleepers like me who need the additional cooling relief. Purple isn’t cold to the touch but I don’t feel hot sleeping on it. Purple Top Mattress
Purple Hybrid’s ideal positions for sleeping and body types
You wouldn’t expect every size shirt to fit at your local clothing store.
There are many options. Your body type and preferred position are the most important factors in choosing the right mattress. Purple Top Mattress
The primary sleeping positions are side, stomach, back or a combination of them all. Purple Hybrid is recommended for stomach and back sleepers.
If you’re a side-sleeper and really want the Purple Hybrid I’d recommend one of the Purple Premier beds. These mattresses are slightly softer and less pressure-relieving than standard hybrid models, which will benefit your shoulders and sides more. Purple Top Mattress
Type of body
The Purple Hybrid beds are perfect for anyone, regardless of their body type.
Purple Hybrid beds are better for all types of bodies than regular foam beds like Casper, Nectar and Casper. They are made with steel pocketed coils that sit on top of the mattress. This makes them more durable than traditional foam beds. It will be noticeable how the mattress will perform over the years compared with an all foam mattress. Purple Top Mattress
The Purple Hybrid bed is more expensive than the original Purple. This is not a good option for those who want to spend as little money as possible on a new mattress. The Purple Hybrid is a good choice if your goal is to invest in your evening’s sleep.
The standard Purple Hybrid mattress is available in sizes from twin XL to California king. Prices start at $1,299 and go all the way up to $1,899. While they do not typically offer discounts on this mattress, they may have a promotional offer that gives you free sheets or pillows.
Purple Hybrid mattresses have metal coils that are encased with foam for support and softness.
